WARNING: THIS IS A BLATANT APPEAL.
Dear Friends,
Perhaps I should apologize right up front, but in reality I can’t because we are faced with so many opportunities that I just can’t apologize for asking for help.
Europe is the new “Dark Continent” and yet we have incredible opportunities to reach this continent with the Good News of Jesus Christ. I could tell you about all the amazing things happening in Russia and Ukraine and the former Soviet Union, Macedonia, Croatia and other nations in the Balkans, Portugal, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and country after country here in Europe. More doors are opening than we seem to be able to walk through. The amazing this is this in Europe, one of the hardest continents in the world to reach with the Gospel. Debbie and I cannot keep up with the opportunities. What a wonderful problem to have!
In country after country we travel to we hear the same message, “Jeff, please don’t forget us. We are so alone. We value so much you being here with us. It helps us. It helps our church.”
I am so grateful for all the people who sacrifice to support the Foursquare Missions Global Missions Fund. It is because of this support that we have been able to see healthy churches planted in Europe. I am honored to serve one of the finest missions organizations in the world. When you consider that our US Foursquare Church is relatively small, about 1,800 churches and our global family is over 68,000 churches in over 130 nations, we can say with full confidence that Foursquare Missions is a fruitful vine in the Foursquare vineyard. I am so thankful to all the Foursquare Churches who support Foursquare Missions. Thank you! We have grown from a single church with a global mission to a Global Church with a single mission: To make disciples of all nations.
We are faced with amazing opportunities to help open new nations, to strengthen our existing works, and to steward the people, resources, and opportunities entrust to us. Right now we are working to establish new Foursquare churches in five nations where there is no national Foursquare Church. We are working to help strengthen and expand churches in the former Soviet Union, the Balkans, and northwest Europe. In addition, we are planning a missionary retreat to care for the 30 men and women who serving as FMI missionaries throughout Europe.
The harvest is plentiful! Some have given up on Europe as too hard, too secular, and too expensive. Me, I have not given up! “I see a cloud the size of a man’s hand.” I believe the spiritual barrenness that has marked this continent will give way to an outpouring of the Holy Spirit resulting in the establishment of healthy local churches in every nation, territory, and community of this continent.
Will you stand with me? I am asking you to continue to pray for us as we open new nations, strengthen our existing works, and steward the resources entrusted to us. Prayer is our greatest need. Trust me, I know we can do other things besides pray but we can never do MORE than pray. Pray for us. Pray for wisdom, strengthen, and the favor of God.
In addition to praying for us, would you consider becoming a financial partner? My heart’s desire is to reach this continent while being a good steward of what we have. The pressing needs we have extend far beyond what we have for our ministry budget. Would you consider making either a monthly or one time contribution to help push us over the top in our ministry needs? Any and every amount helps.
